Uzon-Geysernaia caldera

Uzon-Geysernaia ignimbrite exposed ~26 km NNE of the caldera rim at the Kronotsky Lake shore. The outcrop is ~20 m high. Welded  tuff is dark-gray or bluish-gray in color; non-welded varieties at the bottom and at the top of the tuff contain black andesitic and dacitic pumice. Uzon-Geysernaia ignimbrite is overlain by white pumice lapilli from Krasheninnikov caldera (KRSH). The outcrop is topped with a 3-m-thick Holocene soil-pyroclastic cover with numerous tephra layers.
