Cretaceous oceanic anoxic events: a review of modern conceptions

The article presents a review of modern conceptions of the Cretaceous oceanic anoxic events and considers possible reasons of their origin, relation to isotope excursions, and significance for stratigraphy. Special attention is given to the Pacific region. The paper reveals the evidence for anoxic events in Kamchatkan Cretaceous deposits.
